Guardrails are the automated, technical layer of AI safety controls — input filters, output validators, and topic or content restrictions — that run around a model to catch unsafe or unwanted behaviour before it reaches a user, complementing (not replacing) Human-in-the-Loop review for the highest-stakes decisions.
