Human-in-the-Loop (HITL)
Human-in-the-Loop is a governance control that inserts a mandatory human checkpoint into an otherwise automated AI workflow — commonly used for high-stakes decisions like credit approval, claims denial, or clinical recommendations. It is the most common mitigation regulators ask for when an AI system's error rate or explainability is not yet trusted enough to run fully autonomously.
